Canon AE-1, AE-Program, and A-1 repairs

Canon produced millions of these AE-1, AE-1Program, and A-1 cameras. We have repaired thousands of them over the years and hope to continue to do so for some years into the future.  We have a good selection of both new and salvage parts in stock, including battery covers.  We are able to repair 90%+ of the A series Canons that come into our shop. Our overhaul price includes replacement of the light seals and the mirror cushion, re-calibration of the shutter speeds, light meter, and auto exposure, cleaning, and lubrication. It also includes repair of the so-called "shutter squeak", which is actually the result of dry gears on the mirror governor. Replacement of the battery door, which often cracks near the latch, adds $20 to the prices listed below. It is an excellent investment. The repair estimate for the AE-1 and AE-1 program is $90

The repair estimate for the A-1 is $100

These estimates are pre-approved prices. They are usually accurate, as long as the listed repair is the only service needed.  Please attach a note to the camera describing the problem and approving the listed estimate.  We will NOT exceed that amount without notifying you first. This will reduce the repair time.  If we find other problems with the camera or need to change the estimate, we will notify you.  The prices listed do not include the return shipping charge.
