 Canon Digital
SLRs - 20D, 30D, 60D and other D-series repairs
We do most repairs on the Canon EOS 10D, 20D, 30D, D30, 40D, 60D, and other Canon
EOS digital SLR cameras. As is the case with other digital SLRs,
the shutters in these cameras tend to reach their rated life expectancy
more quickly than the shutters in film cameras do. The reason for
this is quite simple - film and developing are expensive and limit the
number of shots taken with a film SLR. Since the ones and zeros
used to create digital images are "free", many photographers will shoot
hundred or thousands of images in a day. The result is that some
of the money saved on film will have to be spent on periodically
replacing the shutters in these cameras.
Replacing the shutter in Canon D series digital SLRs:
- The repair estimate for the EOS 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 60D and other EOS
digital SLRs (except the EOS 1) is $170
- EOS 1 repairs are by estimate only - please call before sending.
These estimates are pre-approved prices. They are usually accurate, as
long as the listed repair is the only service needed. Please attach a
note to the camera describing the problem and approving the listed
estimate. We will NOT exceed that amount without notifying you first.
This will reduce the repair time. If we find other problems with the
camera or need to change the estimate, we will notify you. The prices
listed do not include the return shipping charge.
