Nikon N70Nikon N65, N70, N80, and F100 camera repairs

The most common repair on the Nikon N65, N70, N80, and F100 cameras is a broken latch on the film door.

Although the latch on the side of the camera body occasionally breaks, it is usually the "hooks" on the end of the film door that break.  The entire film door must be replaced.  This is fairly simple repair on the Nikon N65, because the film door comes as a complete unit.  The Nikon N70, N80, and F100 all have switches or selectors in the film doors.  Film door replacement is more difficult in these models because parts have to be transferred from the old door to the new one (actually complete film doors are available for some of these models, but it is actually more expensive to buy the complete door than it is for us to transfer the parts).

The repair estimate to replace a broken film door on the Nikon N65 is $44.  If you prefer, you can purchase the door for $32 and replace it yourself.  You will have to remove the bottom cover and pull out the lower hinge pin.

We do not recommend replacing your own film door on the Nikon N70, N80, or F100 unless you consider yourself a skilled technician.

These estimates are pre-approved prices. They are usually accurate, as long as the listed repair is the only service needed.  Please attach a note to the camera describing the problem and approving the listed estimate.  We will NOT exceed that amount without notifying you first. This will reduce the repair time.  If we find other problems with the camera or need to change the estimate, we will notify you.  The prices listed do not include the return shipping charge.
