Kodak Carousel slide projector repairs:Older series Carousel Projectors (600-860 and most Ektagraphic models)We can repair most of the older Carousel series projectors, as long as the main motor does not need to be replaced. The main motors for these units are no longer available. To test the main motor, let the projector run for about 45 minutes and listen to the motor sound. If the motor makes a scraping sound or begins to slow down, the bearings are worn and the projector is not repairable. These machines were manufactured using a plastic material that becomes brittle with age. That material was used for the link that activates the machine when the forward and reverse buttons are pressed, as well as for the gears on the focus motor and the focus shaft. We replace all these parts (if present) when we overhaul these projectors. We also have most other parts that are commonly needed for repair. The estimate for an overhaul is:
We recommend <CALLING OR SENDING AN EMAIL> before sending Carousel projectors, especially if you are having problems with the autofocus. We can repair some autofocus problems, but the parts supply is quite limited. Newer series Carousel slide projectorsMost repairs are between $90 and $120, as long as the main motor does not need to be replaced. These motor are available, but increase the repair cost to over $150. Motor replacement is rarely needed unless the machine has had very heavy use. The return shipping charge for slide projectors is usually $12-15.We no longer repair Bell and Howell, Airequipt, Sawyers, or any other slide projectors other than the Kodak Carousel series. We also do not repair the Carousel 500, 550, or 110 models. These estimates are pre-approved prices. They are usually accurate, as long as the listed repair is the only service needed.
